We all like good looking websites right? Well it’s more than that. Websites are meant to tell the world who you are and what you do and present you i such a way that everyone is going to remember you and your name. I’ve learned that simple things are usually really effective. Of course I’ve made complicated flash galleries with hundreds of animations and endless Action scripts. However that’s not always a good solution and here is the case:
This is a website for a company that my best mate was about to start. Sadly he passed away about month and a half ago and no one knows how it happened. So I’m going to make it in his honour and when it’s done I’ll upload it to my DeviantArt account and I’ll let everyone download it for free…

Well at some point-yes. Google itself has a large variety of services and it is the best thing to use when you are looking for pretty much anything. But there is one big problem-it does not give you a direct answer to your question. for example when I look for something like “Gibraltar export”, Google gives me 2,130,000 results which are web pages regarding the Gibraltar trading system. And many of them have nothing to do with the answer I’m looking for. But here’s something different…

Well I suppose many people have had to deal with that-someone comes and tells you “I want 500 business cards like my old once”(which he got from another person/company). Now dealing with millions of fonts and trying to find the one that you really need is simply a nightmare. You spend hours and hours looking at categories, browsing and trying names that might seem “logical”. Well the following suggestions may not simply give you an idea on where to look-in many cases they will do all the work for you:

Identifont is a website where you have to answer a series of questions regarding the type of the font. In other words describing it and it will give you a suggestion
WTF (What The Font) is a web application where you can upload an image of the font which you are looking for and after filling in the characters it will give you a suggestion about the font. If not you can submit a question directly in the message board and someone will most probably identify it.

Well this was something that seemed almost impossible when I was younger(probably because I was trying to edit the image pixel by pixel) but eventually I figured out that this is one of the easiest things on earth.

I had never seen one till this day and this this thing blew my mind.
60 000 x 26 000 pixels sounds outrageous. Well don’t get confused-this is not some alien camera-it’s a Canon 10D with Canon 100-400L lens and 404 pictures composed into one of the biggest photos in existence. And I actually have to mention the size of the result-13.5GB photo

Take a look!!!

Intelligent people know for a fact that printing out anything other than vectors when it comes to real design is a waste of time. And as we know importing an image and pretty much drawing it all over is tons of work. So here are a few tips that you could use:
Here I am using Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended and Adobe Illustrator
1. Well first off-get the image fixed. Makse sure the image is big and clear enough. Select all the objects and areas that you are not going to use. Or the object that you are going to use and invert the selection. It’s pretty much the same thing. Just a question of which is easier in your particular case.
